FINALLY, it was time for the Alameda Flea Market and FINALLY it wasn't raining. The flea market is on the first Sunday of every month and it had rained every Sunday we tried to go. We got up bright and early at 5:30am (it opens at 6) and made the trip out to Alameda. I don't remember the last time I got to watch the sun rise and set in the same day. The flea market is located across the bay from San Francisco. I tried to get a good pic of San Francisco but all these truck are in the way....

There was a lot of cool stuff there like this cone.

My favorite thing we bought was this old wooden calendar.

Brent got some books he had been looking for.

We found these old educational posters at a vintage paper fair a few weeks ago but I thought I'd throw this in with the flea market stuff.

The flea market is a little pricey as far as flea markets go but from what I've heard it's the best around here. The earlier you go the more you pay to get in (we paid $15 each...yikes!). But, if you like that kind of stuff I'd say it's worth it.
After the flea market we headed over to the Mission district where we got some ice cream and enjoyed the sunshine at Delores Park. It's a great park for people watching. Also, there are people who walk around the park selling things such as jello shots, weed brownies, and beer....we just got ice cream though.

Last, we headed out to the beach and ate dinner and watched the sunset.

What a great end to the weekend! By now I probably convinced you to come visit so check out these great plane tickets.
i am convinced. you should turn this blog into one of those where they give away stuff. like free plane tickets to san francisco. i'm sure you would get a lot of visitors to your blog and to SF. i would like to place my entry now.
