We love mid century style (with a little mix of industrial and modern) which makes it extra special that Brent has some mid century modern history in his family. Brent's grandparents were missionaries in Denmark in the late 50's/early 60's and collected a few pieces while living there. Brent was honored this Christmas with receiving some Danish family heirlooms, including this shelving unit above and the Hans Bolling ducks below (you can buy them new here). We don't have enough space to put the entire shelving unit up but for now this is PERFECT.
The ducks have a fun story behind them of a policeman that stopped traffic to let a duck family pass a busy intersection in Copenhagan in 1959.
And, while we were trying to figure out how the shelves hang on the wall, we found some fun old pics of the shelves and some chubby cheek cuties. Don't you just want to squeeze Brent and Amy Jo's cheeks?
