This was our third year to make it to South by Southwest in Austin and this year I was more excited than ever! Not because of SXSW, but because I was missing my friends, family, and Texas in general.
This year Brent was a part of a new event of SXSW called Style X. The booth that Brent contributed to was t-shirt designs by various designers that allowed you to choose your t-shirt color and design and they screen printed them right in front of you. We also enjoyed meeting several different designers and seeing their work in Flatstock...a poster show and also part of SXSW. A few of our Flatstock favorites....

We had a blast staying with our friends Jose & Cristina, seeing Brent's family, seeing Ros, Camille, and Linds...my old college roommates, and seeing many other friends. I was so excited to be in Austin that I forgot to take pictures of the beginning of our trip (sorry Couchman's, Ashley, Kylie, and Cristina).
Did you guys see any bands? Is Brent looking forward to the new Death Cab (coming out in May?)
ReplyDeleteFor Lucas birthday present (he's 16, can you believe it!!) I'm taking Lucas and a friend to see Arcade Fire. Reminds me of when Brent told me his dad took him to see Weezer for a birthday. Love you guys. Uncle John
I can't believe Lucas is turning 16! I bet Arcade Fire will be lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteBrent saw The Dodos and we met one of the guitar players from The Strokes in a store. Brent mainly went to visit friends and go to the art part of sxsw. He's looking forward to Death Cab and hopes it's better than the last one.
